New York Life is seeking a seasoned Application Readiness Lead to own readiness, validation, and remediation coordination across AWS, EOL modernization, and vulnerability remediation efforts. You will drive automated testing, evidence collection, and sign-off processes to reduce risk and accelerate patches.

The role emphasizes cross-team collaboration with CIO, DevOps, SRE, and business stakeholders, ensuring timely production readiness and compliant change closure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in application support, SRE, DevOps, application engineering, production support, or remediation leadership.
• Strong understanding of application dependencies and deployment workflows.
• Experience with New Relic, synthetic monitoring, dashboards, API testing, smoke testing, regression automation, or observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Confirm ownership, criticality, production impact, testing windows, release constraints, and sign-off model.
• Coordinate with CIO teams, DevOps, SREs, owners, and stakeholders to sequence remediation safely.
• Identify blockers delaying remediation or production patching.
• Escalate readiness gaps threatening remediation timelines.
• Validate application impact, workload criticality, reboot windows, and post-patch sign-off.
• Support EOL remediation through code/configuration changes, dependency remediation, install logic, build readiness, UAT, containerization decisions, and decommission sign-off.
• Support vulnerability remediation via library upgrades, middleware validation, code fixes, configuration changes, certificates, and ensure business functionality.
• Partner with platform teams on EKS readiness, EC2 hardened AMI migration, CI/CD readiness, and deployment validation.
• Define smoke tests, service checks, API checks, login checks, and critical business transaction validation.
• Automate regression testing through CI/CD, New Relic monitors, synthetics, dashboards, or other tooling.
• Shift application validation from manual testing to automated testing with exception-based review.
• Attach automated test results, logs, monitoring evidence, defects, and sign-off records to change or vulnerability closure records.
• Provide business impact statements, compensating controls, risk decisions, remediation commitments, and time-bound exception inputs.
• Coordinate production readiness reviews and post-deployment issue triage.
