Job summary

BCforward is seeking an Intermediate Java J2EE Developer for a contract-to-hire engagement in Jersey City, NJ. You will design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Java applications, with emphasis on secure, resilient solutions and cloud-enabled deployments.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Java/J2EE, Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and modern tooling. You will collaborate across teams to deliver quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We are seeking a Java J2EE Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java/J2EE development, Agile delivery, CI/CD, cloud development, and secure, resilient application design and a proven ability to design, build, test, deploy, and enhance scalable software solutions.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Java J2EE applications using standard toolsets.
• Apply Agile methodologies within a common framework to deliver iterative, high-quality software.
• Implement and optimize Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Practice Test Driven Development and uphold coding standards for reliability and security.
• Contribute across software engineering disciplines including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Enhance application resiliency and security in cloud and on-prem environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Java and J2EE frameworks, with hands-on use of modern development toolsets. Experience with Agile practices and delivery within at least one common framework. Knowledge of CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, application resiliency, and security principles. Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages in addition to Java. Ability to collaborate across the software lifecycle from analysis to improvement.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization practices.
• Prior work in Agile/Scrum teams with automated testing and deployment pipelines.
