Job summary

Apache is seeking an Application Production Support professional to manage Linux-based production systems. You will triage outages, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with incident management and monitoring tools.

The role requires 6+ years in production support, scripting, and experience with Apache Tomcat, CI/CD tools, and ITIL practices. In-person relocation is required to West New York, NJ.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Application Production Support on Linux
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Shell scripting and automation experience
• ITIL knowledge: Incident, Change, Release management
• Middleware basics: Apache Tomcat
• Experience with application monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics)
• Experience with scheduling (AutoSys or similar) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, uDeploy)
• Knowledge of Oracle SQL databases and basic networking

Responsibilities

• Handle outage calls, triage issues, and resolve them
• Perform root cause analysis of recurring problems
• Log issues and drive resolution per process
• Work with Incident Management System and ServiceNow queue
• Monitor with APM tools and batch monitoring systems
• Analyze failures using monitoring tools and batch logs
• Troubleshoot NAS/FTP failures and web server issues
• Perform basic Linux administration and shell tasks
• Understand ITIL processes and SOPs
• Support teams collaboration and handoffs

Application Production Support

High level JD:

• 6+ years of experience in Application Production Support on Linux platform
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Good experience in scripting – Shell, Automations
• Well versed with ITIL – Incident, Change, Release management
• Basic knowledge of Middleware technologies – Apache Tomcat
• Experience with application monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience with AutoSys or other scheduling mechanisms
• Experience with DevOps CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, uDeploy
• Knowledge of Banking domain is preferable
• Basic knowledge of Database – Oracle SQL
• Good understanding of Infrastructure Technologies – Linux, Windows, MW, Database
• Good to have knowledge of DevOps, SRE, Automation, cloud

Expectations from this role
