Job description

Remote with very occasional meetings onsite in San Ramon
6 month contract
Pay Range: $70.00 - $74.00 W2

Top Priorities:

Large Application Operations, Linux and Oracle experience, Integration.

Job Duties:

1. Analyze existing SmartMeter application interfaces and tools, prepare logical models and procedures, create SQL code and scheduling scripts, and test/debug the application interfaces and tools.
2. Diagnose, isolate, and correct data and performance faults in the systems involved.
3. Prepare and obtain approval for system and development documentation.
4. Execute planned and ad-hoc corrective maintenance to ensure continuous system operations.
5. Analyze, evaluate, debug, and diagnose bugs, incidents, and exceptions in existing SmartMeter applications, interfaces, processes, and procedures.
6. Identify and correct discrepancies in the data collected, reported, and processed in the SmartMeter systems.
7. Interact with users, business stakeholders, and team members to discuss and report progress on requests and incidents.
8. Perform quality control tasks as directed.
9. Oversee the processing of 24-hour clock packages to ensure timely bill delivery, meeting metrics and SLAs.
10. Support and recommend solutions for failed processing related to the 24-hour clock packages to ensure accurate customer billing.
11. Develop conversion and implementation plans.
12. Assist in defining, developing, and documenting business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications for SmartMeter systems on a project basis.
13. Propose enhancements to procedures, processes, and tools based on current experiences.
14. Communicate professionally and straightforwardly, including non-technical audiences.
15. Interact with suppliers and contractors as needed.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Familiarity with Linux servers, networks, backups, and Oracle databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple departments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting applications and infrastructure technologies, and providing operations support and analysis.
• Experience with large-scale and complex infrastructure-application systems deployment.
