Job description

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Applications Manager to provide leadership across a hospital's EMR/EHR and clinical applications environment.

This is an opportunity for an experienced healthcare IT leader who understands how an EMR supports clinicians, patient care, and hospital operations and has successfully led teams responsible for clinical applications.

The organization operates in an Epic environment and is looking for a leader who can develop the applications team, drive EMR optimization, strengthen application governance, and build strong partnerships between IT and clinical and operational leadership.

This is much more than maintaining an EMR. The organization wants someone who can help determine how its clinical technology environment evolves and how it can be better leveraged across the hospital.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Lead and develop the team responsible for EMR/EHR and clinical applications
  • Provide leadership for the organization's Epic applications environment
  • Drive EMR optimization and improve how technology supports clinical workflows
  • Partner closely with physicians, nursing, clinical operations, and other hospital departments
  • Establish application priorities, governance, and optimization strategies
  • Oversee application upgrades, enhancements, implementations, and ongoing support
  • Identify opportunities to improve adoption, workflows, and utilization of the EMR
  • Translate clinical and operational needs into application strategies and solutions
  • Develop team members and strengthen the overall applications support model
  • Partner with IT and organizational leadership on application strategy and future initiatives
  • Manage application vendors, projects, priorities, and resources
What We're Looking For

We're specifically looking for someone with hospital-based EMR/EHR applications leadership experience.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Healthcare IT experience within an acute care hospital or health system
  • Leadership experience managing EMR/EHR or clinical applications teams
  • Strong Epic experience
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and hospital operations
  • Experience with EMR optimization, upgrades, implementations, and ongoing application support
  • Experience partnering with physicians, nursing, and operational leadership
  • Strong team development and people leadership skills
  • Experience with application governance and prioritization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior and executive leadership
Who Should Consider This Opportunity?

We'd like to hear from EMR/EHR Applications Managers, Epic Applications Managers, Clinical Applications Managers, Clinical Systems Managers, EHR Managers, and other healthcare applications leaders who have managed teams supporting hospital EMR environments.

If you've built strong experience leading an EMR or clinical applications team and are ready for broader leadership responsibility, this could be an excellent next step.

This is an opportunity to have a meaningful voice in how a healthcare organization uses its EMR and clinical technology to support its caregivers, operations, and patients.
