Job summary

Henkel in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Lab Technician for the Adhesive Technologies unit. You will conduct hands-on laboratory testing, ensure safety, generate data, and report results to engineers and customers.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering/chemistry/science and up to 1 year of lab experience; you will train others, work onsite five days, and use PowerPoint/Excel. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, biology or a science field.
  • 1 year of experience working in a chemical laboratory is preferred
  • Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as a team member and independently on various assignments
  • Knowledgeable in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Uses good scientific judgment, statistical analysis, root cause identification and robust solution implementation

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on laboratory testing and material application evaluation.
  • Conduct all laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S
  • Execute lab testing and generate test data, documentation and laboratory reports for projects assigned by Engineers and/or Supervisor
  • Communicate basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcomes
  • Employ basic problem‑solving skillsets to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates
  • Demonstrate expertise in programming robots and working with various curing and dispensing technologies
  • Train other technicians regarding equipment operation and/or test procedures
  • Maintain ownership and safe operation of assigned equipment
  • Report laboratory results and methods according to accepted company lab practices; results, reports and observations will be communicated to internal/external customers
  • This role requires working onsite in Madison Heights 5 days a week

What you´ll do

The salary range for this role is $65,000.00 and $70,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimumand maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at thetime of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligiblefor incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. TheCompany also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actualcompensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills,experience, education, training, and work location. This posting is intended tocomply with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws.
