Job summary

Springs Window Fashions offers an Application Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. This paid position provides hands-on project work within our Commercial Team, with professional development and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll assist with energy efficiency simulations, daylight optimization, and other building-performance analyses, gaining exposure to multiple areas and on-the-job training at our Long Island City, NY headquarters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year degree, Sophomore/Junior level preferred.
• Engineering major (Architectural/Mechanical/Electrical) preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support Application Engineering improvement projects.
• Use analysis software to optimize buildings for energy efficiency and occupant health.
• Create simulations for daylight optimization, thermal & energy modeling, occupant comfort, site & urban radiation, and carbon tracking.
• Assist in training engineers to create and analyze simulations.

Internship Overview

Springs Window Fashions is looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join our Commercial Team! The Application Engineering Internship provides an exciting opportunity to assist the team with project support while providing valuable work experience related to your chosen field of study. Our paid internship program is known for having in-depth, challenging project work with cross-functional teams, as well as professional development, job shadowing and other growth opportunities.

Internship Projects andResponsibilities

• Application Engineering Improvement Projects
  • Utilize analysis software used by architects, engineers, and consultants to optimize buildings for energy efficiency, occumpant health, and sustainability
  • Create simulations with shades including:
    • Daylight optimization
    • Thermal & Energy Modeling
    • Occupant comfort
    • Site & Urban radiation
    • Green Certification compliance
    • Carbon Tracking
  • Assist in training architectural engineers to create simulation optimizing and analyzing buildings

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Previous internship experience in relevant functionpreferred
• Pursuing a 4-year degree with preferred current standing of Sophomore/Junior level
• Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Related Major Preferred
• Proficient computer skills Microsoft Office
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and attention to detail)
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
