Job summary

GEA Group in Oakdale, MN, is seeking an Application Engineer to focus on sanitary technology offerings for the North American market. You will engage with customers and regional sales managers to understand technical needs and manage proposals, pricing, and orders from initial inquiry through technical review.

The role requires strong communication, project estimating, and collaboration with Procurement, Contract Management, Sales, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering, Process/Project Engineering, Project Management, and/or Estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience estimating projects in the food, beverage, and dairy industries.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQ documents and determine appropriate offers and any exclusions.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and clear proposals for equipment, services, and systems.
• Ensure proposals and costing follow governance, policies, and procedures.
• Organize workload to manage multiple tasks and meet proposal schedules.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales to prepare specifications and pricing.
• Maintain historical pricing database and update tracking lists.
• Participate in customer and internal meetings and support sales with presentations.
