Job summary

SHINING 3D is seeking a skilled 3D Digitizing Application Engineer to support metrology customers across Pre-Sales and Post-Sales functions. Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Training teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and ensure successful adoption of scanning, printing, and CAD/CAM workflows.

The role involves problem-solving, teaching, and supporting customers across a wide range of technical touchpoints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metrology, engineering, manufacturing or quality control preferred.
• 2+ years in a technical role; experience with 3D scanners, CMM, CAD/CAM or metrology software is a plus.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings for dimensional control; GD&T experience is a plus.
• Professional demeanor and confidence in presenting to groups.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and with management and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, training, demo and support for customers, in-house and on-site.
• Support sales through the sales process by recommending products for customer applications.
• Stay updated on competitor information and market trends.
• Cooperate with sales to identify leads and opportunities.
• Serve as primary technical contact for troubleshooting, maintenance, and service.

Shining 3D is seeking a skilled and motivated 3D Digitizing Application Engineer (AE) to support our metrology customers across both Pre-Sales and Post-Sales functions. This role plays a critical part in helping practices and labs adopt and succeed with our scanning, printing, and CAD/CAM workflows.

You will work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Training teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences, provide technical expertise, and ensure smooth implementation and long-term success with Shining 3D solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with customer empathy, clear communication, and a passion for metrology.

This role is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and well-suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, teaching, and supporting customers across a wide range of technical touchpoints.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform installation, training, demo and support for customers, both in-house and on-site. Support sales team through sales process, providing product recommendations for customer applications that enhance their business efficiency.
• Stay updated with competitor information and market trend.
• Cooperate with sales team to identify potential leads and opportunities.
• Serve as SHINING 3D primary point of technical contact for handling troubleshooting, maintenance, and service.
• Represent SHINING 3D at webinars, virtual events and in-person trade shows when applicable.
• Travel required to support above listed responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Prefer a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the areas of metrology, engineering, manufacturing or quality control.
• A minimum of 2 years of technical related experience (Having experience of 3D scanner, CMM, CAD/CAM or metrology software is a plus).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings for dimensional control requirements. GD&T experience is a plus.
• Professional demeanor and confidence in presenting to a group of people.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and alongside SHINING 3D management and sales team.
