AVL Test Systems Inc in Michigan is seeking an Application Engineer I with a focus on controls or battery testing. You will commission test cells, troubleshoot complex problems, and interface directly with customers to develop tailored solutions.

Travel up to 40% is required. You will work with cross-functional teams to set up systems, tune control loops, and deliver training and commissioning documentation while supporting customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 0 years related experience required.
• Experience in test automation equipment preferred.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
• Proficient software skills.
• Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of PC operations, MS Windows, and computer networking required.
• Proficient hardware and software troubleshooting skills.

Responsabilités

• Act as a liaison and company representative with customers.
• Commission test cells or systems including: Set-up and troubleshoot test and measurement systems.
• Implement and tune complex control loops.
• Integrate auxiliary equipment into test systems.
• Set-up monitoring and control of relevant safeties.
• Create commissioning documentation.
• Provide training on system applications.
• Obtain customer sign-off.
• Write and implement custom tests.
• Provide technical support to the organization as well as to customers.
• Develop and present training.
• Travel required.
• Other tasks as assigned
