Job summary

AVL is seeking a Service Engineer I to join AVL Test Systems, Inc in Plymouth, MI. You will install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot AVL hardware and software at customer sites, traveling up to 75% to support diverse automotive testing projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to work hands-on with electro-mechanical systems. On-site travel and customer interaction are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
0-2+ years’ experience in related field.
2 years’ experience with test automation equipment preferred.
Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Act as liaison and company representative for customers.
Perform at customer sites: installation, configuration, maintenance and calibration to AVL specifications.
Troubleshoot and repair products following defined processes.
Prepare service and commissioning reports and complete administrative duties.
Travel up to 75% to support customer sites and projects.
Communicate professionally with customers and drive issues to closure.
