Job summary

Hi-Tek in Mason, OH is seeking an Applications Engineer-EDM to support Manufacturing and Quality teams by providing tooling, programming, and EDM process expertise. You will develop EDM parameters, apply G/M code knowledge, and translate drawings into precise operations for the shop floor.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years related experience, strong communication, leadership skills, and proficiency with NX, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to work with standard mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Siemens NX
• Experinece with Mitsubishi and/or Sodick EDM
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Proven analytical and organizational ability
• Proactive thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct

Responsibilities

• Develops and improves EDM parameters for new and existing projects.
• Utilizes knowledge of G and M Code Programming to assist with project improvement/development
• Assists Manufacturing Engineers in converting engineering drawings and specification requirements into precise manufacturing operations and quality instructions.
• Provides leadership to others through training and sharing of knowledge and skills.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Sets up and runs machines or processes required to process jobs per drawings and specs
• Participates and helps coordinate on-site OEM training
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.

Applications Engineer - EDM
Mason, OH

Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, the EDM Applications Engineer assists Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Executive Staff by providing technical information for the tooling, programming and EDM process. They are subject matter experts who take the Engineering Manager's direction and are responsible for providing others with area-specific instructions. In addition, they may be required to perform the same duties as area workers. The EDM Applications Engineer must be a team player, professional, and willing to interface with customers, engineering staff, and lead & train Operators in the shop floor environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with standard mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Siemens NX
• Experinece with Mitsubishi and/or Sodick EDM
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Physical Demand Levels:

• Lift, Push, and Pull up to 35 pounds
• Bend, Crouch, and Reach at least 50% of scheduled shift

Compensation:$100-$140k, contingent on experience
