Job summary

DELO Industrial Adhesives is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support customers across North America from the Greater Boston area. You will lead complex adhesive and equipment-related projects and develop customer-specific solutions through full process integration.

The role offers flexible/hybrid work options, extensive onboarding, and hands-on training at our headquarters in Germany. A minimum of 5 years in a technical environment is required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Materials, Automation or related field).
• Minimum 5 years in a technical environment, preferably as an Application Engineer in adhesives or automotive.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong analytical and systematic problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects with a focus on the automotive market.
• Develop customer-specific solutions through full process integration.
• Identify and implement technical solutions with Sales Engineering team.
• Support DELO Equipment Activities including UV LED lamps and dispensing systems.
• Provide technical consultation to customers across North America with Sales Engineers.
• Drive growth by collaborating with Sales Engineers.
• Conduct feasibility studies and present results to stakeholders.
• Maintain communication with DELO teams worldwide.
• Offer on-site, virtual, or phone support to sales engineers.

Job description

• Work on complex, adhesive and equipment-related projects with a focus on the automotive market
• Take responsibility for the development of customer-specific solutions through to full process integration
• Identify and implement the right technical solutions for our customers in close collaboration with the Sales Engineering team
• Support and manage DELO Equipment Activities, including UV LED lamps and dispensing systems
• Drive our growth through excellent technical consultation of customers across North America, working hand-in-hand with Sales Engineers
• Systematically identify new technologies in cooperation with Sales and Product Management, and implement them into customers' production processes
• Conduct feasibility studies, derive appropriate follow-up measures, and present results to internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain close communication with various DELO teams worldwide
• Provide comprehensive technical support to sales engineers — on-site, virtually, or by phone

Your Skills:

• You are located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Boston Area (MA)
• Degree in Engineering, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Material Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering , or a related technical field (Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree welcome)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical environment — preferably as an Application Engineer in the adhesive or automotive sector
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently and systematically
• Prior expertise in adhesives is not required — you will receive intensive and hands-on training at our headquarters in Germany
• Willingness to travel as required (domestically and internationally)
