Job summary

Mastercam is seeking an Applications Engineer II to bridge technology and customer success in the Phoenix area. You will provide expert technical support, training, and tailored Mastercam solutions for customers and internal teams in the West region.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in a related field and 3–5 years in CAD/CAM or application engineering with hands-on Mastercam experience. Travel up to 25% is expected, and you’ll work closely with Sales, PM, and Development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support to customers and channel partners, troubleshooting Mastercam issues.
  • Analyze customer workflows and tailor solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Serve as a technical resource for escalated inquiries and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with product management to incorporate customer feedback for enhancements.
  • Test and validate new product features for real-world usability.
  • Assist sales with demonstrations, presentations, and proofs of concept.
  • Support post-sale adoption and successful implementation of Mastercam solutions.
  • Develop toolpaths, templates, macros, documentation, and training materials.
  • Deliver in-person and online training and hands-on product demonstrations.

Job description

The Applications Engineer II plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and customer success. This role provides expert technical support, training, and solutions to Mastercam customers, and internal teams, helping users maximize the value of Mastercam products. The position supports the West region and is based in the Phoenix Metro Area, Arizona.

How You'll Drive Success
  • Provide expert-level support to customers and channel partners by troubleshooting technical issues related to Mastercam products.
  • Analyze customer workflows and recommend tailored solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Serve as a technical resource for escalated customer inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to provide customer feedback and insights for product enhancements.
  • Test and validate new product features for compatibility and usability in real-world applications.
  • Assist sales teams with product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proofs of concept.
  • Support customers after the sale to promote successful implementation and adoption of Mastercam solutions.
  • Develop custom toolpaths, templates, macros, technical documentation, and training materials.
  • Deliver in-person and online training and hands-on product demonstrations for customers, channel partners, and internal teams.
The Talents We're Seeking

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming, manufacturing, or application engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and manufacturing processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including customer site visits, trade shows, and international events.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of machining processes and tooling.
  • Experience with simulation software and post-processor customization.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, such as Salesforce and NetSuite.
