Job summary

Hyperion Solutions Group in Memphis, TN seeks an Application Engineer to provide technical and engineering support to customers by phone and in writing. You will prepare technical documents for proposals and assist with orders while coordinating with Operations and Applications teams for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Application Engineer

Location: Memphis, TN

Hyperion Solutions is a technology driven vertical transportation solution provider headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, and with offices around the United States. Hyperion Solutions (Hyperion) connects trusted and respected brands to create the premier integrated provider of Systems & Components, Digital Solutions, and Technical Services for the Vertical Transportation industry. Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking experienced technical sales engineers to join our team. The Sales team provides technical/engineering support to our customers via phone and written communications as well as facilitating orders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical documents for proposals and projects
• Participate in product and service promotions from external and internal sources
• Create and process proposals and sales orders in accordance with company policy
• Build and expand the company’s customer data base using CRM
• Coordinate with Operations and Applications teams to ensure on time delivery
• Assist with the resolution of customer issues, problems or complaints
• Pursue increasing knowledge of the industry, markets and competitors
• Collaborate on the creation of technical documents and design drafts at the request of our customers which may include materials, functional characteristics, processes, quality control procedures, etc.
• Support the sales and warranty teams
• Produce periodic summaries and other reports or lists as requested by management
• Attend and participate in company meetings
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Must be mechanically inclined, analytical, creative and be able to work in a team environment
• Must possess superior skills in organization, communication, problem solving, understanding customers' decision-making process, verbal and written communication and multitasking
• Degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering preferred
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows OS including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, popular web browsers and search engines, and Windows Explorer
• Experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks a plus
• Must have prompt and regular attendance, a sense of urgency, self-motivation, and discipline
