Job summary

Sigil Partners Staffing in Boise, Idaho seeks an applications engineer with a strong background in thin film technologies to develop new applications, support customer requests, and contribute to product development.

You will interface with customers, engineering, marketing and service teams to drive process improvements, maintain best known methods, and train colleagues. Occasional travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, physics or chemistry with 5+ years in thin film tech.
• MS degree in engineering, physics or chemistry with 3+ years in thin film tech.
• PhD degree considered with minimal experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages with customers to develop applications and assess ion beam system performance.
• Develops and maintains best known methods (BKM) for process control and improvements.
• Plans and controls measures to enhance system performance.
• Presents technical aspects of products to customers and sales channels.
• Provides on-the-job training to teammates within the local team and for customers/partners.
• Collaborates with service, sales, product, marketing and engineering teams to support revenue.
• Checks and approves operational quality of system equipment and instructs customers in operation and maintenance.

**Overview**Seeking a technically sound applications engineer to help develop and research new applications.Company is well-positioned with great teams, core technologies, and a strong entrepreneurial culture that supports new product development.The main objective of this role is to develop new applications, support customer requests, and develop new products.The application engineer will also discover new opportunities to add value either through new product development or existing product enhancements around our core technology.In this role, the applications engineer interfaces with customers, consultants, marketing, sales, service, manufacturing and supply chain.**Responsibilities**Engages closely with customer to develop applications and process performance on ion beam systems; drives relevant ion beam learning and demos needed to applications development.Develops and maintains best known methods (BKM) for process control, process development and continuous improvement. Drive adoption of BKMs and new applications.Maintains a working knowledge of ion beam systems process, hardware and relevant diagnostics; Plans, implements and controls measures to enhance system performance.Solves process problems in straightforward situations and when needed, reaches out to service and engineering teams and drive to solutions.Presents technical aspects of products to customers and sales channels.Provides on-the-job training, education and assistance to fellow team members both within the local team, company, and for customers and partners.Works as a member of a cross-functional team with service and sales personnel and the product, marketing and engineering teams for company product lines to support revenue requirements.Communicates and participates in technical trainings regularly to enhance the professional knowledge and to gather up-to-date product line information.Checks and approves operational quality of system equipment.
