Voyatek is seeking an accomplished Application Development Manager for Conversion & Modernization to lead a multifaceted data conversion initiative. You will drive migration from legacy systems to new data models, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with architectural standards.

The role emphasizes client engagement, delivery leadership, and modernization expertise. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of software development and a track record of modernizing complex systems

Key Responsibilities

• Data Conversion & Migration
• Lead data mapping and refinement sessions with business and technical stakeholders to map legacy data structures to the target data model.
• Own the conversion approach from start to finish extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and cutover planning.
• Lead reconciliation reporting between the source and target systems to confirm all data is accounted for, and make sure any differences get resolved.
• Use relational and NoSQL databases to analyze, transform, and validate legacy and converted data.
• Conversion Design & Alignment
• Understand the technical complexities of the conversion process well enough to anticipate issues and guide the team through them.
• Work with the architecture team to make sure conversion designs follow the system's design principles and standards.
• Work with application teams to understand the target data model and make sure converted data meets platform requirements.
• Make sure conversion work meets project requirements, technical standards, and client expectations.
• Delivery Management
• Lead the conversion team in an Agile environment and coordinate dependencies and timelines with the other project teams.
• Set conversion priorities, milestones, and delivery timelines.
• Track progress against the schedule and report status, risks, issues, and dependencies to project and PMO leadership.
• Spot technical and delivery risks early and work with stakeholders to address them.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with project managers, business stakeholders, and clients to meet conversion objectives.
• Explain technical issues and risks clearly to non-technical audiences, manage client expectations, and resolve escalations.
• Team Leadership
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members, and set clear performance expectations and accountability.
• Handle performance, interpersonal, and delivery issues directly and professionally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing software development teams.
• Experience with legacy system conversion, application modernization, or data migration.
• Strong experience with one or more modern programming languages, including .NET/C#, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience working with microservices architectures.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience managing development activities against project timelines and milestones.
• Experience communicating project status, risks, issues, and delivery progress to project management or PMO leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop technical teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with clients and managing client expectations.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience converting or migrating data from legacy systems to new enterprise systems, particularly financial systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies, particularly AWS Glue and Apache Spark.
• Experience designing or developing data processing and migration solutions using AWS Glue/Spark.
• Experience working across both relational and NoSQL database environments.
• Experience with enterprise-scale application modernization or system conversion initiatives.
• Experience leading distributed or cross-functional technical teams.
• Experience in a consulting, professional services, or client-facing technology environment.
• Experience working closely with PMO organizations and managing delivery within defined project schedules.
• Experience communicating technical concepts, project risks, and delivery status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing complex client relationships and resolving escalated issues.

The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the unique facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual range is $135,000.00 - $200,000.00.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. It is classified as exempt under applicable law. Additionally, this position aligns with the Voyatek Career Framework as a level 05 people leader in a Software Development position.
