Job summary

The University of Michigan Information and Technology Services invites applications for an Application Developer Senior to join the Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) team. This role is eligible for a hybrid or mobile/remote work mode at the department's discretion.

Work agreements are reviewed annually and may change. You will collaborate with analysts and developers to deliver customer-focused software, implement robust REST/SOAP/JSON services, and maintain systems across MS SQL Server and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business computing or related field, or equivalent.
  • Experience with daily administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration.
  • Programming with C#, JavaScript, XML.
  • Experience with .NET Core, .NET, MVC, MS SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members to resolve incidents, enhancements and fixes.
  • Develops customer-focused solutions and interacts with internal groups.
  • Forms requirements with business analysts and advises on solutions.
  • Adheres to application standards and deployment procedures.
  • Handles development, automation, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and maintenance.

Job Summary

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an Application Developer Senior to join the Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) team within ITS. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with team members and service support groups to effectively resolve incidents, enhancement requests and fixes. Monitors applications and other systems for availability, error conditions, and performance
  • Aim to develop customer-focused solutions using technical design skills and relationships with internal groups
  • Work with business system analysts in formulating requirements and advise on solutions
  • Align with application standards and procedures, such as deploying changes
  • Assignments include development, automation, configuration, customization, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and maintenance of systems
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business computing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Experience applying appropriate technical tools to perform daily administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration.
  • Programming experience with C#, JavaScript, XML
  • Experience with .NET Core, .NET, and MVC frameworks and MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON)
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Programmer, Systems Administrator, Systems Integrator, or related role
  • Proficiency with DevOps: Git, GitHub, MSBuild, Azure DevOps, TFS, PowerShell, NUnit, containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with the Salesforce platform, including data modeling, data migration and data integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
