Job summary

University of Michigan's Information and Technology Services (ITS) seeks a seasoned PeopleSoft Developer to support the Student Administration team. You will work with Oracle Campus Solutions and the PeopleSoft suite (PeopleTools, PeopleCode, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, SQR, COBOL) to create, modify, and maintain integrations and reports.

You will collaborate with business analysts and infrastructure teams to design solutions that meet the needs of the university and its students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years in a related developer role customizing and supporting Oracle/PeopleSoft applications such as PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, COBOL, Application Engine, Integration Broker, BI Publisher and Change Assistant.
  • Experience with relational database technology and SQL.
  • Experience with APIs, web services and system integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively and independently on complex application development tasks.
  • Develop, implement and maintain web and batch applications, reports, queries and application integrations following established standards and methodology.
  • Work with business systems analysts to design solutions that meet the needs of the customer and University.
  • Coordinate and install vendor provided software patches and maintenance.
  • Provide problem analysis and resolution, job scheduling, monitoring, tuning, and end-user support.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the business and administrative processes.

Job Summary

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an experienced and motivated PeopleSoft Developer to be a part of our Student Administration team. You will work collaboratively on a variety of assignments supporting our Oracle Campus Solutions application using the PeopleSoft suite of technologies including PeopleTools Application Designer, Change Assistant, PeopleCode, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, SQR, COBOL and more. You will work with business system analysts and technical infrastructure teams to create new software solutions, integrate applications using APIs and other technologies, address issues, and perform maintenance. Occasionally working during non-business hours is required.

You will report to the Application Development Manager.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a related developer role customizing and supporting applications using Oracle/PeopleSoft application development tools, such as PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, COBOL, Application Engine, Integration Broker, BI Publisher and Change Assistant. Similar ERP experience, or experience with another Student Information System will be considered.
  • Experience working with relational database technology to support web applications
  • Applied knowledge of the software development lifecycle and process improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with SQL, query writing, reporting tools and one or more procedural or object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience supporting system-to-system integrations using APIs, web services and other integration techniques
Modes of Work

This position is currently eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode, this can change in the future at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
