MANTECH is seeking an Application Developer in Chantilly, VA to own and drive full lifecycle development of existing applications and contribute to new initiatives. You will analyze user needs, design effective solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

The role requires strong Java skills, front-end proficiency (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Angular), Spring REST services, SQL/ORM experience, and Git.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years IT experience.
• Strong Java development skills.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Experience with Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL databases, and ORM (Hibernate/JPA).
• Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and secure web application development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain software systems, applications, and tools, ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within timeframes and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, vendors, and clients to develop new features and improve existing functionalities.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests, participate in functional and regression testing to validate software performance and correctness.
• Identify and resolve software errors by implementing fixes, re-testing, and verifying outcomes.
• Review help desk messages and troubleshoot production issues in coordination with other teams to ensure prompt resolution.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Deploy code across development, testing, and production environments utilizing existing DevOps tools and infrastructure.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Developer to join MANTECH’s dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle development and enhancement of existing applications, as well as contributing to new development initiatives. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, capable of analyzing user needs, designing effective solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products. The Application Developer will play a crucial role in maintaining system integrity, improving functionality, and ensuring the seamless operation of applications vital to our clients’ missions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with over 7 years of experience in the Information Technology field. Candidates should demonstrate strong Java programming and development skills, with practical experience in building and maintaining Java-based applications. Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern frameworks such as Angular is essential. Experience with the Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL databases, and ORM libraries like Hibernate or JPA is required. Additionally, familiarity with Git version control, branching, and merging practices is necessary to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Preferred candidates will have the ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Elasticsearch and secure web application development practices.
