Job summary

MANTECH International Corporation is hiring a Junior Software Developer in Doral, FL. You will work on backend services, APIs, and frontend components within an Agile team.

The role requires a STEM degree and 1+ year of software development experience, plus familiarity with Python/Java/C#/C++ and basic web tech. Ideal candidates have exposure to Docker, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM field with 1+ year in software dev.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python/Java/C#/C++).
• Basic familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code for backend web services, logic, and RESTful APIs.
• Design and develop frontend components and unit test UI elements.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprints, retrospectives).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Develop and optimize database scripts and schemas in relational DBMS.
• Containerize applications and assist with automated deployments and version control.
• Create and update user docs, technical specs, and diagrams.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Software Developer to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support backend web services, application logic, and RESTful APIs.
• Assist in designing, developing, and unit testing responsive front-end user interfaces and web components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams in Agile software ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Help troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application deficiencies to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Develop and optimize database scripts, queries, and schemas within relational database management systems.
• Containerize applications and assist with automated deployments, configuration management, and version control workflows.
• Assist in creating and updating user documentation, technical specifications, and system architectural diagrams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM discipline AND one (1) or more years of experience in software development or an adjacent role, software analytics, devops, automation, ect.
  • OR an associate's degree and three (3) or more years of relevant experience
  • OR a high school diploma and five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
• Foundational experience developing in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or C++.
• Basic familiarity with front-end web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Familiarity with application containerization tools like Docker and automated configuration tools like Ansible.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and cloud-hosted environments.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire).

Clearance Requirements:

• Must hold an active/current secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
