Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an experienced Delivery Lead/Engineering lead to guide software engineers, including hands-on coding in RPG, Java, and APIs. You will mentor teams, shape architecture, and ensure software solutions meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• 5 years of experience on projects involving the SDLC.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and high level design.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications in logical program designs, code modules, application systems, and software solutions.
• Reviews the development or modification of highly complex, enterprise level software solutions.
• 50/50 role with 50% design, mentorship, leadership and 50% hands on delivery of code.
• Develops and validates highly complex software design prototypes, ensuring adherence to architecture standards.
• Contributes to technical direction for development, configuration, or modification of integrated solutions.
• Ensures requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Manages code and production deployment per IT policies.
• Leads project teams, mentoring others and sharing methodologies.
