Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align projects with IT standards, and deliver integrated enterprise solutions. You will mentor teams, code, and drive architectural decisions in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Requires a Bachelor’s in CS or related field, 5 years in software development, and strong RPG/Java/API skills. Excellent communication and leadership are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of database technologies experience.
• 5 years of SDLC involvement.
• 3 years of systems analysis experience.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular, APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on business requirements and functional specifications.
• Review development or modification of highly complex software solutions.
• Balance design/mentorship with hands-on delivery of code.
• Develop and validate complex software designs, ensuring architecture adherence.
• Contribute to technical direction for development and integration across environments.
• Document detailed requirements, design, test scripts, and deployment steps.
