Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking an Application Consultant to deliver first-class technical applications support and training. You will demonstrate Leica instruments, promote the LBS portfolio, and ensure maximum uptime through reagent and system optimization in your defined territory.

You will report to the Applications Manager within the UKI Sales Team for the South West region, with a fully remote role and travel up to 80% of the time.

Qualifications

• BA/BSc in Biomedical Science, Life Science or equivalent field.
• Multiple years’ strong experience in all areas of Histology.
• Detailed practical knowledge of primary/special staining, tissue processing, sectioning and immunohistochemistry techniques.
• Experience with optimisation, functionality and support of manual and automated histology methods, instruments and reagents, with a focus on troubleshooting and continuous improvement, using problem solving skills to identify customer needs and adapt support strategies to gain customer trust.
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness – able to make presentations to different audiences (including C-suite), conduct training classes; act as brand ambassador to win competitive customers and support sales lead qualification.

The Application Consultant is responsible for deliveringfirst classand professional technicalapplicationssupport and training, performing demonstrations ofLeica Biosystems instruments and reagents, supporting with promotion and sales of the LBS product portfolio, mostly though not exclusively in their defined territory, ensuring Leica Biosystems’ solutions have maximum uptime and performance through optimisation of reagents and systems, thereby retaining customers to generate reagent order intake. The ultimate objective is tosupport customers throughout the entire customer journey whilst growing core reagent and product sales through market intelligence.

This position reports to the Applications Manager and is part of the UKI Sales Team, focusing on the South West region of the UK. The role is fully remote i.e. home-office based with travel to customer sites expected up to 80% of the time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to undertake both applications and commercial tasks:

Applications Tasks – Post Sales

• Instrument and software training for customers
• Troubleshooting and assisting customers with application issues
• Customer support with assay optimisation, validation and verification

• Instrument demonstrations
• Assist in preparation of tender technical responses and commercial bids

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Relevant experience in a technical, sales-oriented environment.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Must be willing to travel within their defined territory up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays, and attend customer sites, sales and related product meetings as required nationwide.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
