Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Application Architect / Business Analyst to join our Plant Systems Team. This role will initially be hands-on, focused on understanding our existing business processes, application architecture, and development practices. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include working with stakeholders to resolve system issues, define project scope, estimate efforts, create technical specifications, and oversee execution in collaboration with offshore development teams. This role is critical to providing the technical and business process depth needed to support newly announced capital investment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prioritize, and resolve user requests and system notifications.
- Create and execute test plans to ensure all customer specifications are met.
- Track and report the status of work items, ensuring timely delivery.
- Deliver high-quality code meeting customer requirements for functionality and performance.
- Interact professionally with stakeholders to gather requirements, share data, and provide reporting.
- Collaborate with offshore development teams to facilitate solution delivery.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent technical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems/information technology.
- Strong background in applications systems development, testing, and defect resolution.
- 5+ years of experience with COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS DB/DC, JCL, and TSO/ISPF in an IBM MVS mainframe environment.
- Strong understanding of IT application and delivery processes.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience developing/supporting applications in metals, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Experience developing/supporting scheduling and inventory applications.
- Proven ability to work effectively with offshore development teams.
Certifications:Relevant technical or business analysis certifications (Preferred but not required).
