Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Application Analyst III to join the IT&S Radiology Systems team in Oceanport, NJ. This salaried daytime role focuses on complex application builds, workflow analysis, testing, documentation, and end-user support.

The position requires strong subject-matter knowledge and experience in healthcare applications, with opportunities to lead small to medium builds, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor Level 1/2 analysts. Competitive salary range provided.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned application design and build activities with minimal supervision, including workflow analysis, configuration, testing, upgrades, enhancements, and application modifications.
  • Coordinate with Operations and stakeholders to evaluate current-state workflows, identify workflow enhancement opportunities, and translate requirements into technology solutions.
  • Perform and oversee analysis of necessary application modifications using comprehensive subject matter knowledge to address complex build and support issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting, go-live, post go-live, and on-call support for implementation, upgrade, enhancement, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain customer and project communication through detailed ticket updates, issue documentation, resolution notes, and oral and written communication to project teams.
  • Document workflows, system changes, decisions, risks, issues, governance materials, and version-controlled project artifacts.
  • Develop future-state materials, test scripts, change readiness content, and documentation for new systems, version upgrades, and system modifications.
  • Project manage small to medium-scale builds, ensuring issue tracking, resolution, closure, and change control processes are followed.
  • Collaborate across application, training, operational, and departmental teams to ensure build, documentation, and support activities remain aligned.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource and preceptor for Level 1 and Level 2 analysts, validating work and supporting staff development.
  • Monitor application enhancements, industry trends, and future enterprise impacts to inform recommendations within assigned scope.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or directed by management.

The Application Analyst 3 manages more complex application build, workflow analysis, testing, documentation, and customer support with minimal supervision.

This role applies advanced subject-matter knowledge to resolve issues, supports integrated workgroups, contributes to small or medium build efforts, and serves as a knowledge resource for Level 1 and 2 analysts.

A typical day as an Analyst may look like:

  • Project coordination: organizes and manages small to medium-scale build efforts, tracks issues through resolution, follows change control processes, and supports timely completion of assigned work
  • Documentation and governance: maintains accurate documentation of workflows, system changes, decisions, risks, issues, test scripts, governance materials, and version-controlled project artifacts
  • Adaptability and learning agility: adapts to changing business needs, application enhancements, upgrades, and enterprise priorities while maintaining current knowledge of assigned systems

You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • Demonstrated experience working with the assigned customer base, operational workflows, or application support processes preferred.
  • Able to manage more complex application build, workflow analysis, testing, documentation, and customer support with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and work experience with healthcare clinical or financial systems
  • Knowledge of current clinical or financial system workflows and processes
  • Experience supporting implementation, upgrade, enhancement, and maintenance activities
  • Experience coordinating with Operations, application teams, training teams, and departmental stakeholders
  • Experience documenting workflows, system changes, decisions, risks, issues, test scripts, and version-controlled project artifacts
  • Experience supporting small to medium-scale build efforts, including issue tracking, resolution, closure, and change control processes
  • Experience serving as a knowledge resource or preceptor for less experienced analysts
To Be Considered for this role, you must possess:

Education Required: Associate s degree with 2 or more years of relevant work experience. Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience. Licensure Required: Applicable application certification is required or expected as required for the assigned application. Certification must be maintained through required New Version Training (NVT), as applicable. For certain clinical applications, clinical licensure is preferred and may be required as specified in the applicable job aid. 4+ years of prior application, system build, support, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
