Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking an HIM Application Analyst to work with IT and HIM/Coding teams. You will support Oracle/Cerner HIM modules, ABS, and related apps, coordinate resources, and ensure stable system operation.

The role requires 3–5 years of health IT experience and strong project management and communication skills. Role can be on-site, hybrid, or remote, with a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Oracle/Cerner HIM module certification preferred (RHIA/RHIT preferred).
• 3–5 years of information systems experience in health care.
• In-house and ancillary application integration and support experience.
• Strong project and vendor management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and document/test problems.
• Knowledge of current health IT trends and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Summary: The HIM Application Analyst works closely with IT and HIM/Coding management, other application analysts and departmental staff in building stable and secure integrated system solutions, providing ongoing maintenance and support of these systems, and evaluating and deploying emergent and new technologies. The HIM Application Analyst acts as a liaison between technical staff and the HIM department.

The analyst will have an in depth understanding of HIM functions due to their responsibility for providing support for Oracle/Cerner Health Information Management module, Meditech Abstracting (ABS) and other applications to include: 3M coding and reimbursement systems, Optum Integrity One (OIO) and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), document type management, CAMM media storage, Nuance, related interfaces, and all other applications under Health Information Management. The analyst is responsible for identifying and resolving errors, implementing software upgrades, enhancements and ensuring daily or periodic applications tasks are performed. The analyst will coordinate necessary resources or personnel (user departments, vendor personnel, I/S programming or technical staff, consultants, physicians and other affiliated personnel) to ensure that supported systems operate smoothly and effectively. The Application Analyst will have knowledge of ROI, Coding, deficiency tracking, chart completion, MRN and account merges, etc. Analyst also provides input into strategic planning for their areas of responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certified in Oracle/Cerner HIM module.
• RHIA, RHIT preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Information Systems supporting applications in a health care setting.
• Significant experience implementing, integrating and supporting in-house and ancillary applications.
• Excellent project management and vendor management skills.
• Participates in and may lead new and upgrade application projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Analyst is responsible to document, test, communicate and resolve identified problems.
• Knowledgeable of current application information technologies and trends in health care.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Expected pay

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $35.76 - $45.60 The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
