Job summary

Texas Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company in Texas is seeking an Application Administrator I to maintain and optimize business applications, ensuring availability and performance.

You will work with Network, Systems, and PC Support, learn Microsoft servers and Power Platform, Jira, WebSphere, and other tools, and provide after-hours support as needed. This role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and adherence to ITIL processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in an IT-related field with minimal IT experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ITIL framework for Change, Incident, and Problem Management in production support.
  • Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.
  • Able to develop working processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts between multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Able to learn new and challenging systems to support internal and external customers.
  • Complete training and assignments timely and adhere to procedures.
  • Travel as required.

Job description

Company Name: Texas Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company | Department: Information Systems

This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and optimization of application software to maximize the availability and performance of business applications and services. This role may work closely with Network Administrators, Systems Administrators and PC Support personnel to analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion.

Application Administrator I candidates will have basic knowledge of one or more of the following functional areas and demonstrate the skills needed to gain proficiency in the other area.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
  • Utilize ITIL framework for Change, Incident, and Problem Management for supporting the production environment.
  • Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.
  • Able to develop working processes.
  • Collaborate and seek solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts between multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Able to quickly learn new and challenging systems to implement and support for internal and external customers.
Functional Area #1 – Microsoft Applications

Assist and learn from team members to apply, activate, and distribute Microsoft licensed products to other teams and members of the business.

Technical Skills Required (Foundational Level or Higher):

  • Microsoft Server Systems

Functional Area #2 – Other Applications

Assist and learn from team members to apply, activate, and distribute licensed products to other teams and members of the business.

Departmental Responsibilities
  • Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.
  • Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.

  • Escalate problems to appropriate personnel, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in a network, computer, or management related field and minimal experience in an information technology-related field.
    • Associate degree from an accredited school in a technology-related field and foundational experience in an information technology-related field.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willing to travel as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Repeated use of PC, telephone, and office machines.
  • Extended periods of sitting and concentration.
  • Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and reaching in an office environment.
  • Consistently lift and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Occasionally work long, irregular hours.
  • Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.
  • Travel, as required.
