Job summary

Groundswell seeks an experienced Appian Data Architect to design scalable data architectures for enterprise applications on the Appian platform. You will lead data modeling, data stores, and integrations while collaborating with solution architects and client stakeholders.

The role requires 10+ years in data/architecture disciplines, strong SQL, data governance, and experience with Appian or similar platforms, supporting a federal program. Remote options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development or data architecture work.
• Experience designing data solutions for complex enterprise apps.
• Strong relational DB, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience building integrations via APIs and web services.
• Appian or comparable low-code/BPM experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data architectures for enterprise apps on Appian.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models and schemas.
• Design data solutions including Appian data stores, record types, and data synchronization.
• Define data storage, access, and exchange across Appian and external systems.
• Create optimized relational DB solutions and complex SQL queries for performance.
• Collaborate with Appian architects, developers, and integration teams to resolve challenges.
• Evaluate and improve data structures for scalability and quality.
• Design data integrations using APIs and enterprise patterns.
• Establish data integrity, security, metadata, and governance standards.
• Troubleshoot data/DB/integration performance issues and advise on fixes.
• Participate in architecture reviews and align with federal tech standards.
• Provide mentorship to development teams as a data architecture SME.
• Engage with federal stakeholders to translate requirements into data architecture.
