Job summary

Groundswell Corporation is seeking an experienced Appian Data Architect to design scalable, secure data solutions within a federal program. You will lead data modeling, architecture, and integration efforts across Appian-based systems, collaborating with solution architects, developers, and client stakeholders.

The role requires 10+ years in data/solution architecture, strong SQL and relational DB skills, and experience with Appian or similar low-code platforms. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, application architecture, data architecture, database engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience designing data solutions for complex enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with relational database technologies, SQL, data modeling, database design, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing integrations between enterprise applications and external data sources using APIs, web services, and other integration technologies.
• Experience with Appian or a comparable enterprise low-code/BPM/case management platform.
• Strong understanding of application architecture and the relationship between design, data architecture, integrations, and performance.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical and performance issues across applications, databases, and integrations.
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical and data architecture solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data architectures supporting complex enterprise applications and business processes.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including data structures, relationships, schemas, and standards.
• Design data solutions for Appian-based applications, including data stores, record types, data synchronization, and integration with external sources.
• Define data storage, access, integration, and exchange across Appian and external systems of record.
• Design and optimize relational database solutions and complex SQL queries for performance.
• Collaborate with Appian architects, developers, and integration teams on technical designs.
• Evaluate data structures for scalability, performance, and data quality improvements.
• Design data integrations using APIs, web services, and other enterprise patterns.
• Establish standards for data integrity, security, access controls, and metadata governance.
• Troubleshoot complex data/app issues and provide resolution recommendations.
• Participate in architecture reviews to align with program and federal standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams on data architecture.
