Job summary

The New Mexico Supreme Court is seeking a full-time, TERM At-Will, Appellate Paralegal (U) to work in Santa Fe. The role involves preparing and reviewing legal documents, docketing, and coordinating appellate court materials.

Ideal candidates will have strong writing and research abilities, knowledge of Bluebook citation, and experience with court rules and case management. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and a paralegal program is required.

Qualifications

• Paralegal education meeting ABA standards or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and legal terminology skills.
• Experience with appellate court dispositions and legal citation rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide paralegal support to the Court, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical standards.
• Draft, edit, and proofread appellate opinions and dispositive orders.
• Read and review cited cases and verify factual accuracy in dispositions.
• Ensure correct citations per Bluebook and style guides.
• Perform legal research using multiple databases and prepare summaries.
