Staffmark Group is hiring an Appeals Representative in Knoxville, TN. The role focuses on reviewing denied claims, preparing appeals with supporting documentation, and tracking outstanding claims in a professional office environment.

Required: high school diploma or GED, with 2+ years in medical billing preferred and knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, and healthcare reimbursement guidelines. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; pay rate is $17.28 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, business coursework, or administrative support training preferred.
• 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.
• Experience researching claim denials and Accounts Receivable preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement guidelines, ICD-10, CPT-4 coding, and appeals processes preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review denied claims and determine appropriate next steps based on payer requirements.
• Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance carrier appeal guidelines.
• Track and follow up on outstanding claims.
• Identify recurring claim issues and report processing errors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
