Job summary

Milliken & Company, a global textiles and materials science leader, seeks an Apparel Textile Technical Service Professional to bridge customers, sales, and product development from development through post-sale use.

You will troubleshoot fabric performance, guide material selection, and interpret tests to ensure meeting quality standards and customer requirements. Occasional travel to customer or manufacturing sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Science, Apparel Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel textiles, fabric development, quality, or technical service.
• Textile manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers on apparel textile performance and applications
• Assist with fabric development including material selection, construction recommendations and performance optimization
• Conduct and interpret textile testing (durability, colorfastness, shrinkage, hand feel, moisture management, flame resistance)
• Troubleshoot fabric or garment issues during development or launch and implement corrective actions
• Support product launches by ensuring alignment across business, manufacturing and development
• Act as liaison between customers on small projects or upgrades to existing products
• Provide samples to customers for modifications/upgrades
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to align technical solutions with customer needs
• Participate in customer meetings, trials, wear tests, and on-site evaluations
• Gain deep knowledge of customer requirements and see projects through to finish
