Job summary

Milliken & Company is seeking an Apparel Textile Technical Service Specialist to provide technical expertise for apparel fabrics throughout development, production, and post-sale use. You will bridge customers, sales, product development, and manufacturing to ensure textile performance and quality standards meet customer requirements.

You will troubleshoot fabrics, assist with development, conduct textile testing, and support launches while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in textile-related field.
• Minimum 5 years in apparel textiles, fabric development, quality, or technical service.
• Experience in textile manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer or manufacturing sites.
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on textile performance, specs, and applications to internal teams and customers.
• Assist with fabric development including material selection and performance optimization.
• Conduct and interpret textile testing (durability, colorfastness, shrinkage, hand feel, moisture management, flame resistance).
• Troubleshoot fabric/garment issues during development/launch and implement corrective actions.
• Support product launches by aligning across business, manufacturing, and development team.
• Act as liaison between customers on small projects and samples; provide samples for modifications/upgrades.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to align technical solutions with customer needs.
• Participate in customer meetings, trials, wear tests, and on-site evaluations as needed.
• Acquire deep knowledge of customer requirements and drive projects through to completion.
