Job summary

Milliken and Company seeks an Apparel Textile Technical Service Specialist to provide expert support across development, production, and post-sale use of apparel fabrics. You will troubleshoot, test, and guide garment performance while coordinating with sales, product development, and manufacturing to meet customer requirements.

The role focuses on fabric performance, quality standards, and technical guidance, with opportunities to travel to customer and manufacturing sites when needed.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and communicate technical findings clearly.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer or manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers regarding apparel textile performance, specifications, and applications.
• Assist with fabric development, including material selection, construction recommendations, and performance optimization.
• Conduct and interpret textile testing (durability, colorfastness, shrinkage, hand feel, moisture management, flame resistance).
• Troubleshoot fabric or garment issues during development/launch and issue corrective actions.
• Support product launches by ensuring alignment across the business, manufacturing and development.
• Act as liaison between customers on small projects/modifications/upgrades to existing products.
• Provide samples to customers for modifications/upgrades.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing to align technical solutions with customer needs.
• Participate in customer meetings, trials, wear tests, and on-site evaluations as needed.
• Ability to gain deep knowledge of customer requirements and see projects through to finish.
