Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain – Apparel in Mishawaka, IN to lead the Apparel department and deliver an engaging shopping experience rooted in product knowledge. You will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure athletes feel confident in their selections.

The role requires high school completion, 1–3 years retail experience, and strong customer-facing skills. Leadership experience is preferred as you build a capable team and uphold store standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging athlete experiences by offering product knowledge and recommendations.
• Lead the Apparel team, coach teammates, and manage scheduling and daily operations.
• Assist in developing 30-60-90 day plans to support department priorities, budgets, and goals.
• Ensure store policies, safety, and loss prevention standards are followed and enforced.
• Oversee head coach functions during store operations, including opening/closing and cash office tasks.
