Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Fit Specialist to join our New York team. Lead fit sessions on live models, evaluate garment fit, and communicate precise fit comments to overseas factories to ensure adherence to brand standards.

You will collaborate with patternmakers, technical design, and production, review samples for consistency, and maintain detailed records while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of apparel fit, garment construction, and fabric properties, with knit and soft goods focus.
• Experience with multiple factories and managing production timelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Apparel, Textiles, or related field.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Sewing techniques and understanding garment construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative cross-functional mindset.
• Fast, accurate, detail-oriented, adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

• Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms.
• Evaluate garment fit, balance, and proportion across categories.
• Create and communicate clear fit comments to overseas factories.
• Collaborate with patternmakers and technical design to resolve fit issues.
• Review and measure samples (SMS, PP, TOP) for consistency and accuracy.
• Ensure garments meet brand specs, measurements, and construction standards.
• Track fit approvals and maintain sample records.
• Work with merch, design, and production teams to meet deadlines.
• Work independently, be a team player, and take ownership of tasks.
