Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver specialized care across multiple locations including Richmond, Williamsburg, and Charlottesville. The role involves eight clinical sessions per week with a travel-friendly schedule and mileage reimbursement between sites.

The APP- NP, PA will provide medical and/or surgical patient care in collaboration with Attending Physicians within a defined scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program.
• Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate Board as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant; current national certification as appropriate for the role.
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; ACLS and PALS may be required by department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of treatment and patient care across specialty population.
• Coordinates patient care across the continuum of services.
• Assists with surgical procedures and prescribes medication per scope of practice.
• Maintains and documents all pertinent information in the patient’s medical record.
• Performs histories and physicals; orders/interprets tests; participates in care coordination.
