Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider at our Tappahannock location to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position works 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with weekend shifts rotating among providers and no call requirements.

Ideal candidates have experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Acute Care. The APP (NP, PA) provides medical and/or surgical patient care in collaboration with the Attending Physician, performing histories and

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate Board as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant.
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS/PALS may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care in collaboration with the Attending Physician.
• Perform histories and physicals; order and interpret tests; diagnose and treat injuries/illness; prescribe medications.
• Collaborate with the APP/Physician team to ensure coordinated, timely patient care.
