Job summary

UVA Health System in Culpeper is seeking an experienced and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Acute Care/Same Day. This outpatient role requires independence in assessment, diagnosis and treatment, with collaborative practice alongside the medical director and an interprofessional team.

The schedule is 20 hours per week across two shifts, with every 3rd Saturday rotation, and a base salary tier reflecting years of APP experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited graduate program in nursing or physician assistant with a master's degree.
• 2–3 years of APP experience preferred.
• Virginia license or eligible; current BLS required; ACLS/PALS as required.

Responsibilities

• Works with medical director and interprofessional team to facilitate patient care.
• Performs comprehensive health histories and physical assessments.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic studies in consultation with peers.
• Orders medications and therapies per Virginia prescriptive regulations.
• Participates in on-call responsibilities as determined by department.
• Promotes professional practice and serves as clinical resource to staff.
