Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to define needs, document requirements, and translate them into functional specifications. You will collaborate with business and technical teams, develop test plans, and manage changes to project requirements.

This role emphasizes process improvement, governance, and reporting across development teams, with a focus on ServiceNow initiatives and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in one of the specified areas and 3 years of experience with managing requirements lifecycle, assessing project requirements, managing test plans, and developing technical solutions.
• Alternatively, seven years of any combination of education, experience and training.
• Experience defining and documenting requirements and managing test plans.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes problems and opportunities effectively and identifies recommended changes that deliver the most value.
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand the impact of those changes and create business case.
• Facilitates team collaboration with business and technical partners to understand current state processes, identifies challenges and opportunities, establishes target state processes and determines project requirements and approach.
• Builds or assists in building test plan based on defined requirements and use cases to ensure project outcome is meeting the project objectives.
• Assists with User Acceptance Test (UAT) efforts and validation.
• Own portfolio reporting, dashboards, metrics, and executive summaries across the development teams.
• Coordinate strategic planning, roadmap tracking, intake management, and follow-up on leadership action items.
• Lead business process analysis and continuous improvement efforts, including workflow automation and ServiceNow-related initiatives.
• Track governance, compliance, accessibility, audit, and AI governance activities to ensure visibility and accountability across the portfolio.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
