Job summary

Ruan is hiring an Application Development Intern for Summer 2027. This internship is temporary, hourly, and combines on-site at our downtown Des Moines campus with remote work.

The intern will partner with a Senior developer to learn and assist with enhancements, troubleshooting, bug fixes, upgrades, and new development in a predominantly C# .Net environment. Great opportunity to gain exposure to microservice architecture in a large enterprise.

Qualifications

• Education: Some College Courses Preferred; IT related degree recommended.
• Experience: none
• Must meet behavioral expectations and align with guiding principles: safety, people, customer, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Duties may include assisting in the preparation of reports and presentation material 25%
• Provide day-to-day business activities focused on meeting internal and external customer needs 25%
• Fully support financial business case analysis 25%
• Participate in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects and provide technical support in managing the business unit's financial performance. 20%
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. 5%

Ruan is now hiring an Application Development Intern for Summer 2027.

This is a full-time position that will work a mix of on-site at our downtown Des Moines campus and remote.

The Application Development Intern will partner with a Senior developer to learn and assist with enhancements, troubleshooting, bug fixes, upgrades, and or new development.

Great opportunity to gain exposure to microservice architecture in a large diverse enterprise of both vendor SaaS and on prem in house developed systems.

Work on an agile team in a predominantly C# .Net environment.

The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division. Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.
