Job summary

Ruan is now hiring a Managed Transportation Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time position that will work a mix of on-site at our downtown Des Moines campus and remote.

The internship provides exposure to routing optimization, carrier tracking, and continuous improvement projects within the transportation business. It is temporary, nonexempt/hourly, offering hands-on experience and collaboration with internal and external customers.

The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division. Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt/hourly.

The Managed Transportation Specialist Intern will work with dedicated managed transportation customer account(s). This position will learn routing optimization, carrier tracking, and work on continuous improvement projects that will directly impact Ruan and its customers.

• The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division.
• Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business.
• Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace.
• This position works very closely with internal and external customers; strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
