Job summary

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG), a 160+ provider multi-specialty group, seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care and Internal Medicine team in a full-time role covering both clinics.

This APP role offers a 50/50 split between direct patient care and supporting the provider team, with no patient panel ownership, enabling focus on high-quality care and teamwork. FHMG emphasizes collaboration within a physician-led, mission-driven system.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Maryland license or ability to obtain.
• Current DEA license and Maryland CDS license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocation.
• Eligible for participation with all payers.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients, including history taking, exams, diagnosis, treatment planning, and education.
• Spend ~50% in direct patient care and ~50% supporting physician colleagues and workflows (no independent patient panel).
• Order/interpret labs, imaging, referrals; perform procedures within scope.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, and specialists for coordinated care.
• Support care coordination activities, including follow-up on results and chronic disease management.
• Document accurately in the EMR and ensure proper coding and compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement, population health, and workflow optimization.
