Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. Falls Church, VA seeks an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to coordinate information for timely, on-budget construction with quality outcomes. The role develops into leadership during two-to-six year learning paths and partners with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will support pre-construction, budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, meetings, and reporting, while growing productively within a strong safety-focused culture and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred
• 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a general contractor
• Previous experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred
• Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality
• Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems incl. Microsoft Office, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards
• Must demonstrate clear, concise communication and professional writing; organized and adaptable

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards
• Ensure documentation is filed
• Assist in creating and managing project budgets
• Develop pre-construction RFP package
• Assist in project meetings, milestones, and owner reports
• Establish RFIs, submittals, and pay applications; approve pay apps and change orders
• Update project schedule; ensure quality control and logistics
• Assist in managing the closeout process
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team
