Job summary

East Daley Analytics seeks a skilled API engineer to own the contract between our data API and client dashboards. You will design versioned endpoints, implement efficient querying, and ensure uptime for production dashboards.

You will collaborate with front-end engineers and the Data Team to optimize schemas, enable fast, safe queries, and support an evolving, AI-augmented analytics platform used by investors and operators.

Qualifications

3 years of professional software engineering experience.
Designed and operated an API used by other teams.
Resource modeling, cursor pagination, sparse fieldsets, versioning, deprecation without breaking live clients.
Maintained a schema across language boundaries.
Additive evolution with versioned changes; no broad redeploys.
Golden-file and snapshot testing over generated output.
Daily AI-assisted development to increase production velocity and QA/QC.
End-to-end ownership.
Able to talk to an analyst who knows what they need to see without knowing how it’s built.
Bachelor's in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Own the API and the query layer with versioning and strong uptime.
Support the front end by ensuring the API provides required endpoints and data.
Operate dashboards in production, including edge caching, authentication, rate limiting, and observability.
Collaborate with Data Team on SQL foundations and storage layer.
