Job summary

MISTRAS is seeking an API Inspector (510/570) for Beaumont, TX. The role involves inspecting equipment to maintain mechanical integrity and reviewing work visually to authorize repairs. You will assist in scheduling inspections, follow safety procedures, and document findings for clients.

Travel may be required; lifting up to 35 lbs is expected. The position is on-site in a refinery environment with equipment and noise levels typical of industrial plants.

Qualifications

• Possess API certification (510 and 570) with at least one year of related experience.
• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; technical school or college credits preferred.
• Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection reports.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Capable of climbing, working at high elevations and in confined spaces.
• Ability to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to access elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain mechanical integrity.
• Inspect completed work visually and recommend/approve repairs.
• Assist in scheduling inspection activities.
• Use proper safety procedures and equipment.
• Complete all required forms and paperwork.
• Deliver reports to clients.
