Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking an API 653 Inspector local to the Baytown, TX area for a full-time role to start as soon as possible. This position requires 10+ years of API 653 experience and a strong understanding of traditional NDE methods.

The role involves on-site inspections, reporting to clients, and adherence to safety procedures in refinery environments. Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 pounds and climbing to elevated platforms as needed.

Qualifications

• API 653 certification with 10+ years of related experience.
• Understanding of traditional NDE.
• New construction experience highly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or college credits preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; ability to write detailed inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the refinery.
• Perform visual inspection of completed work and recommend and approve repairs.
• Assist in the scheduling of activities related to inspection.
• Use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
• Properly use and complete customer and company job related forms and paperwork.
• Abide by Company policies and procedures.
• Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.
• Deliver reports to clients.
