Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. is seeking a Technical Writer to create API documentation for Bloomberg's developer clients, collaborating with Product, Customer Support, and Engineering to deliver tutorials, quick starts, and tech specs.

You will drive scope, manage projects independently, and help set authoring requirements for CMS and authoring tools, balancing technical content with business value.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical writing for a developer audience.
• Experience writing API documentation.
• Deep knowledge of API documentation best practices.
• Ability to read and understand programming languages (Python preferred) and work with code samples.
• Strong writing for technical and business audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines.
• Experience maintaining large documentation and creating new structures.
• Proven collaboration with product, engineering, support and management.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and iterate on client-facing API documentation.
• Organize content to foreground essential information for readers.
• Adhere to style guidelines and extend them for bespoke content.
• Manage a high volume of projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Contribute to evolving styles, processes, and tools, including AI.
