Job summary

First-Horizon-Bank is seeking a Junior API Developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of APIs for financial services. You will design, code, and test RESTful APIs and microservices, document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger, and support onboarding and lifecycle management.

You will gain experience deploying on Microsoft Azure, learning container basics with Docker, and improving security practices with RBAC and OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect while collaborating across cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Foundational understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Familiarity with Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Basic exposure to SQL and relational databases.
• Version control with Git; exposure to CI/CD concepts.
• Willingness to learn cloud concepts on Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test RESTful APIs and microservices; document APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Support API onboarding and lifecycle management.
• Deploy and run services on Azure; learn Docker and Artifactory; exposure to AKS is a plus.
• Instrument observability and set up dashboards and alerts.
• Follow secure coding practices and manage identity and access with Azure AD and RBAC.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers; participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Create and maintain API documentation, runbooks, and specs.
• Conduct unit and integration tests; coordinate with QA on test cases.
• Participate in rotating on-call for production APIs and integrations.
